Naturally Curly

What to do with my Curly Hair?

Hey girls and guy with the best of both worlds ... When it comes to hair that is. Oh yes, the curly Q's of the world. For those with naturally curly hair, here are some tips for you on everything curly !
Let’s start at the Beginning: Proper hair care.
Now we all should know that because of the fragile texture, shampooing should be at most once a week. We need to retain the natural oils to keep our hair from frizzing. It is ok to condition daily for extra moisture, but it is ideal to condition 2-3 times a week. Deep conditioning is also very important! It helps your curls stay frizz less and healthy from the roots to the ends. I personally love natural/homemade deep conditioners so here are my favourite recipes.  Enjoy!

Mayonnaise & Avocado Deep Conditioner

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 avocado

Mix the mayonnaise and avocado until you have a paste. Rub it on your hair and cover your head with a plastic cap. Sit under a drier for extra damaged  hair. Wrap a hot towel around it. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes and wash. Repeat once a week for better results.

Papaya Moisture Drench

 Ingredients

  • 1/2 papaya
  • Olive oil (amount depends on how dry your hair is)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  •

Puree papaya with some olive oil and honey. Apply to damp hair and leave on as long as you like. Rinse, then shampoo out excess oil if necessary.

Papaya is rich in vitamins, minerals and enzymes that help nourish hair, remove unwanted residues, and add shine and softness. Here’s how to get healthy hair with a raw papaya hair treatment.
